Resolved Question: How do I acquire the used railroad ties near my house.?

I live in Midland tx about 1/4 mile south of I-20. There is an Union Pacific Railway running along the Interstate. Recently there were large bundles of new railroad ties unloaded along tracks. Yesterday they began removing the old ties and replacing with new new ones. The old ties (for now) are discarded along the sides of the tracks. I have been looking for these type of ties for a long time. I would like to get or buy as many as they would let me have. There must be a way to get permission for these ties but I have no idea how. I tried there website no luck. Does anyone know how to get these the legal way? i know it happens since Ive seen ads for sale of these ties by private individuals accross the US.
